Cohen Law Group’s public sector practice group represents
municipalities, counties, and state associations primarily
in cable and telecommunications law. We assist our clients
in (i) cable franchising and related services, including franchise
negotiations with cable operators, franchise fee audits, cable
compliance reviews, and franchise-related litigation; (ii)
right-of-way management, including drafting right-of-way ordinances
and ascertaining relevant costs to determine an appropriate
fee schedule for companies occupying the rights-of-way; (iii)
planning for and implementing broadband systems for communications
by the government and the public; and (iv) advancing our clients’
interests before legislatures and other regulatory bodies.
Dan Cohen, founder of Cohen Law Group, heads up the firm’s
public sector practice. He has worked in the field
of cable and telecommunications for over fifteen (15) years.
He has represented hundreds of local governments, as well
as telecommunications companies, both inside and outside of
Pennsylvania. He also serves as consultant to the
Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities (PLCM), as
